Well this looks familiar.
Regular practice helps settle the noise. My students have been asking if I can run a guided class on a regular basis, so I’ve set one up. This class is suitable for Awen’s beginners, journaling students, and others who are interested in making meditation part of their weekly schedule.
The details are here ⬇️
If you have any questions p,ease let me know.
Isn’t t it wonderful to see the colours of the leaves changing on the trees? Autumn really is beautiful here in the mountains. As the leaves will begin to fall over the next few weeks, I am reminded that I also have layers I need to let fall away.
This can can be a lovely reminder to check in with yourself, do you have routine that is stagnant or unhealthy? Habits that you know you’d be better off without? Relationships with people that just are not good for your heart space?
What can you do to change it up?
I am always thinking of new ways to reinvent my days, and routine, to prevent falling into old habits.
Here are a few of the the things I have brought into my life recently, that are already changing the way I feel;
🍁 No screens in bed. This means no checking emails, social media, watching movies, or responding to messages. I have done this before, and then fallen back into the habit of taking my work to bed with me. I know better, but it takes a little extra organise attention and a little bit of will power to stick with it. Since I’ve started this again, I find I fall asleep in minutes and my bed feels like the restful space that it should be. Try it an see how you go.
🍁 Booking ahead for massages! Normally I am pretty good at this, however sometimes life gets busy and I miss a couple of weeks. Then I get sore! Massage is my first port of call when I feel a little down or my body is tired. I’m currently booked in every fortnight and I tell you it works wonders. Along with stretching, it keeps me supple and able to give my clients the attention they deserve. 💙
🍁 Continuing to be alcohol and coffee free. The best thing I have ever done for my body is to stop drinking alcohol. Then I decided to kick coffee as well. Living life that is totally free of substance is amazing. I feel confident that my emotions are not tainted with stimulants. I feel more authentic in my relationships. I am a better listener and I have so much more energy. If you’d like to kick these habits, let me know and I’ll share with you the ways that I finally did it.
🍁 Planing things to look forward to that are healthy, outdoors and frequent. If I don’t do this, life feels like Groundhog Day. Over the next couple of months I have hikes, camps and outdoor fires planed to really allow time to reflect, and connect with Mother Nature as well as my inner self.
🍁 Study, learning new things allows me to continually evolve and grow. I’m currently doing a post graduate, which has been deep and gruelling, so I’ve mixed it up and have a couple of fun courses I am doing as well. Short courses keep me stimulated, which allows focus and the excitement of learning to continue to grow. There are so many courses out there, have a look around and see what you can find.
I wish you all a wonderful April! Below I have some new Awen dates for you, if you see something that you are interested in but the times or days done suit, let me know, I’m always happy to run extra classes if the need is there.
Awen will be holding a special meditation event.

Yesterday I found myself drawn into that space of overthinking, that old anxious feeling gently knocking on the door of my heart.
Luckily I have Reiki in my life. Upon meditating with the precepts, I was able to gently let go, put aside my fears and continue to enjoy my day.
The most important part of the precepts for me is, “for today only”.
Being in this moment..
Feeling into the now…..
Right now is exactly perfect for me, for what to need to learn, for what I need to give.
I am grateful for the present.

💚Beginners Meditation Classes start Wednesday 20 February.💚
How do you celebrate without sharing food and a drink? How could you have a cheese platter while being dairy free? How do you feel loved if you have let go of that one (toxic) person in your life and now you feel alone?
All big questions, all can leave you with a feeling of loss.
Letting go, of a habit, can feel like letting go of a companion.
I can tell you from personal experience it is all about perspective. Letting go, can be absolutely freeing, opening up your world to new adventures, a sparkly outlook and a love for yourself that you never knew existed.
Awen’s next course, will have a beautiful focus on letting go, replacing and loving your life, free from whatever is not serving you.
In this group we will support each other and grow together.
Is it time you put your thinking cap on and really asked yourself the question? “What do I really need to do to set myself free?”
Let go of what is holding you back!
Do you think your habits are holding you back?
Whether it’s a New Years Resolution that has gone by the wayside or you are thinking about Feb Fast which is quickly approaching, there is something that all of us could be better off living without.
Of course the classic examples of ‘bad habits’ are excessive alcohol intake, drinking more coffee then recommended, sugar consumption, etc, get my drift? There are also other things that we do in our daily lives which essentially, are not good for us that we ignore. So deeply programmed into our being, it would seem that we don’t even think of them as a learned behaviour.
For some this might be limited self belief, continually staying in unhealthy relationships, communicating with others in an unconscious way, obsessive cleaning, placing expectations on others and more.
Some of us may even habitually create obsticals in our lives, which bring about a sense of overwhelm. An example of this might be; dumping everything on your kitchen bench when you get home, with a plan to put it away later. You then go to prepare dinner and you are faced with a kitchen full of mess, which needs to be cleared before cooking. Instantly you are filled with frustration and make a decision to be cranky, or order take out.
Our busy lives are such, that habits are created all the time. They sneak into our lives like dust balls on a freshly swept floor, and create little piles of dirt. Almost invisible at first, they gently grow, surrounding our space until it is visibly filthy. Before we know it we need to get the vacuum out and suck it all up. The floor then appears clean, but the dust is hidden within the vacuum cleaner. Not always totally dealt with.
The trick is to empty that vacuum bag into the bin and get rid of it!
Temporarily letting of a habit, may have short term emotional and physical benefits. However long term commitment to change, is the magic that will really enhance your life.
I have spent 20 years, consciously working on personal change. I am still awork in progress. Sometimes I totally rock it, other times it can be a huge struggle.
The main thing I have found success with, is letting go of the ideals set by my family of origin, instead creating my own, which are organic and keep growing. Allowing change to move through my life freely, has opened my heart to self love, acceptance and freedom of choice.
Feb Fast is a great initiative, which raises money for all sorts of wonderful causes including mental health and addiction. I’ve included a link here for you if you would like to take a look at their site.
While I am not affiliated with Feb fast in anyway, I am all for kicking habits!
During February, I will be on board to share techniques with those of you who would like support in giving up a habit for good.
If you are interested let me know and I will put you on the list for this group and send you the details.
My goal here is to help more and more people to become their best selves. My motive, we are all worth it!
That is what Melinda said after completing her 6 weeks of Awen’s Journey of Discovery course. Melinda, isn’t a meditator, she doesn’t even keep a journal. However the tools, steps and insight she obtained in this course, really gave her what she needed to let go of old thoughts and habits, and move forward into her bright new future.
This is a course for everyone. Within this 6 week period I share with you, my favourite, (tried and tested) ideas and techniques to help you become your ‘best self’.
Some of the skills you may pick up are how to;
🌿Learn to trust your intuition.
🌿Get to know yourself deeply.
🌿Discover new ways to release stress.
🌿Find ways to support yourself in every day life, and in complex situations.
🌿Change the way you communicate.
🌿Bring positive change, love, and trust into your life.
I’d love to see you there!
Monday evenings, 7pm, 6 weeks.
STARTS 21 JANUARY.
$180 (weekly payments available, (paid one week in advance)

Hundreds of people walk through the doors of the Awen room every year. What I have found is that there is a pattern of lingering. For some reason the Awen room seesms to provide a sanctuary to many, giving them space not only for their treatments and classes, Awen is a space where people like to share.
Many of my clients like to linger, telling stories of their personal struggles, triumphs, relationship issues, health worries. Some like to share recipes, others like to share stories of holidays or adventures.
Some of my clients have social anxiety, PTSD, and intimacy issues, but they share. Some clients are social butterflies on the surface, but have no one to talk to about personal issues, they need a shoulder to cry on. A space for emotional release. Some are lonely, some are shy. For whatever reason, my ‘lingerers’ (said with the greatest respect and affection) like to stay.
I allow time between my clients and classes, to check in pre and post treatment. In fact I leave 30 mins between each client.
This provides time for a ‘quick’ chat (10 mins) after treatment.
I then need to use 10 mins to reset the room, changing linen, put towels in the washing machine, hang out the previous load, make tea, a space clearing for the treatment area, and a ‘very’ quick bathroom break.
Then the last 10 mins is used to meet and great my next client. Phew, those stairs and that little rush keeps me fit. 30 minutes is greatly shortened, and pushing people out the door is something that I really feel uncomfortable doing.
I cannot ignore the need for people to feel heard. I appreciate and respect this need.
So, I have decided to offer my ears, my heart and my time to listen. Introducing A Cuppa With Ange
I am setting aside 45 mins per week, to have a chat and a cup of tea with whomever would like to join me. This is one on one time, no strings attached. No counselling, no judgment, no therapy, no selling.
I am here just to listen to whatever you want to talk about. Think of it like a cup of tea with a friend. I am not charging a fee for listening, if you would like to make a contribution financially you are welcome to, if you are unable to, that is absolutely ok as well, I really want to provide a trusted space for you to feel heard, that is payment enough for me.
It is time for you to come and visit me, it will be casual, and we can just chat about whatever you want.
I am looking forward to seeing you, sharing and hope so much that you can take time to enjoy my new offering. Click the link above to send me an email.
